I readily admit that I am new to this whole glamour photography thing, but I've sort of taken up an immersion therapy approach and one of the components has been to get familiar with a few of the "professional photography web sites". One of the things that I am quickly finding out is that the general tone of G1 is hands down more friendly than any other site that I've found.

Sure, there's the occasional rant of someone who won't post anymore or doesn't like the new format. But in general, everyone is respectful and seems to steer around replies unless they have something to say that is either constructive, postive, or just plain amusing. Sometimes you get all three at once.

One site I just found, that shall remain nameless, seems to have great networking possibilities, but is so caustic and hostile that the forum rooms are just scary. Additionally, the "constructive feedback" often takes the tone of "Dude, you effing suck..." Hmmmm...perhaps it isn't a site for professionals as it claims to be.

I agree completely. This is the best place to exchange information. People here act like they are professional, even if photography isn't their profession.

That's why I was one of the early Life members here, even though I really don't know much about glamour photography. (I'd love to learn more...) I have learned a lot here that is applicable to photography in general, and I enjoy seeing the work that is posted here.
