Glamour One™ Core Values and Beliefs

1. Honesty above all else, nothing less.
2. The Internet is the "Great Equalizer."
3. No photographer knows it all—not even those with Pulitzers.
4. No model knows it all—not even those with tearsheets.
5. We all have faults.
6. The printed word often sounds harsher than the spoken word.
7. Photographers, though helpful to models, are not agents.
8. People shoot pictures and other people, photographers take photographs.
9. Photography is an art when created or admired by those who understand form.
10. Model releases don’t allow for use with libel or malice—even when signed.
11. Glamour photography can include nudity, but nudity is never a requirement.
12. What is acceptable to one isn’t always acceptable to all.
13. Respect is earned, not given.
14. Leave final editing to editors, not family or friends.
15. All photography is subjective
16. Photographers make enlargements, they don't "blow" things up.
17. Photographers should never force or coerce a model to do something she doesn't want to do.
18. Models should be on time, photographers should be reasonably patient.
19. Tearsheets should never be unethically created.
20. Always give at least a 96-hour notice for cancellations.

Maybe he shoulda put it some place I want to click. No offence, the Values and Beliefs are good but if most everyone is missing them then they're in the wrong spot either intentionally or not. I don't buy this "you have to explore the site" mentalitity. Either it's intuitive to 90% of the users or it's broke. Heck just replying to this post seemed oddly difficult.

"Do I quick reply? How come when I click in the quick reply window nuthin happens? Is it broke? Does it not work with Opera? What else can I click on to reply? etc."

Good value statement. I also had not read it before. Maybe add a more attention getting link or guide to it.

E.g. "Why use this site" and maybe list the values first and then stats about how much traffic, sharing of info, etc.

Just a thought

I hear you about the reply window. It's rather dead unless an icon is clicked first and I can not make up any reason why that would be. It takes time. Anyhow, they are working on this site everyday to improve it. Send them your suggestion in the main community.

The reason that should be is that this new forum software places far more emphasis on being threaded rather than linear. So it's important to specify WHICH post you're replying to.

That said, my answering your question in no way constitutes a defense of this awful forum software, which I've passionately hated since long before G1 started using it. I think most if not all people were aware of the threaded nature of the old software and did a fine job of handling it properly, under a far more user-friendly system.

On the other hand one point I will say in favor of this system is the "Hybrid" mode which allows you to see the Threading without having to individually click every single response like in a true Threaded-only forum such as DPReview. I think this option is also superior to linear-only forums (if you don't believe me go observe a little of the massive who-are-you-responding-to CHAOS of TelevisionWithoutPity).

Just curious about this one. Does this mean that someone should
disrespect you until they are satified enough that you have earned it?
Because I tend to respect people until they show me reason to loose it.

I can agree with that.

Thanks.
I have met some people on occasion who seem to treat others with a
need to be disrespectful to someone without knowing who they are.
Not sure how that person would ever have the respect they want from
being that way.
As far as me being what I shoot, guess that means we change from
time to time then, but right now my camera is in for repairs so I won't
be doing much shooting for a while. :>(
