Found out today that I can't shoot at the pool at the Aladdin like I had planned. Now I've got models lined up and only my hotel room to shoot in.

Any suggestions on where to shoot?

I wasn't planning on having a car, but I might change that. And I didn't want to drive an hour each way to shoot in the desert. I've currently got them schedule about 3 hours apart.

Hey there Mr. Davis,
I have not shot here with a model but it would be an awesome place to shoot one for sure.... Valley of Fire.... It is about an hours drive north east of vegas... Next time I am in the area I am setting something up here for sure.

You might want to look into a non casino hotel if you want to shoot on property.

Watch your white balance when shooting models at Valley of Fire. Especially if you pose the models next to the red rocks. Voice of experience... ;-)

Be careful in Valey of fire.. Permits required, I have been thrown out twice, shooting models there. Sometimes redrock canyon can be a little easier. But legally permits are required there too.

Good luck

When we were looking for hotels I thought about Hampton because they were permissive for SSLV, but they were booked.

JT, did you have to get permits to shoot at the dry lake beds for SSLV? I'm thinking about going back there. It was about an hours drive right?

A word to the wise.

With New Orleans not up to par for conventions it opens up Las Vegas and Chicago. These two markets for hotels are going to increase so it's very important to consider this all now when making travel plans. That is why we are already launching our plans for SSLV V. Also, Las Vegas is becoming more and more time share properties and while this is going on hotels are being booked solid while folks are going to Las Vegas to secure their time share and condos.

Anyway, yes, legally you need a permit. They are free but you must contact

Yes the Primm dry lake bed is 45 miles or so south on I-15

Remember tho, permits require proof of insurance... This can be a problem..
