This image still needs some work. I'm not happy with the way her right hand is just floating in the dark. I think I should go back to the RAW image and create a second brighter layer to paint back in the shadow detail on the jacket. Opinion? Worth the effort?

Hi,
You could pull out the jacket from the dark for sure. Maybe try using "shadows and highlights" option in PSD...
but in any case it is great image....

Maybe this way helps just a little:

But I think this is also a viable option and opens the image up a bit

I like the second version better, the hand is distracting a bit, taking it out of the image really improves it. Great shot by the way, beautiful model.

Yes, great choice removing the hand but would keep pulling the jacket from black a little like on example..regards Zak
