The coloor photo was taken with the D200 and the b&w was taken with D100 with a 87 filter (ir) desaturated to reveal the ir photo.
P;ictures taken at Cypress Gardens SC. The picture are almost the same. Focal lenght of the two lenes are different.

After looking at the pictures which camera do you like better. I have the D100 and have thought about the D200. I like the fact the D200 is much faster for sports/action photographs. In your opinion is it worth the money?
Thanks in advance.

Well! I like them both, probably because I can play with IR on the D100 and the D200 takes better pictures.
You can make the D100 a bit faster by using faster memory cards. But the faster cards in the D200 smokes with them.
I now carry both camers.
I also intend on replacing my Nikon F if I can find one for a decent price that had been taken care of.

both images are very nice ....however...I am a little confused. I could understand if both images were the same but with the two diff cameras. You asking us to compate apples to oranges. To be honest with you, I had the d-100..hated the camera. I am now officially a canon guy.

I am sorry you misunderstood the post. The color photo was taken with the D200 at about 85mm. The b&w photo of the same scene at 28 mm with the D100 and a 87 ir filter.
note the bridge at the center of the color photo and the bridge center left in the
b&w photo. The bridge does not give off an ir signature so it gets lost with all that organic material around it.
I didn't like the D100 at first, white balence doesn't work properly unless it's in auto. Usuing the filter to get ir was a feature I like in the 100. 200 will not get ir at all.
