Did I succeed at achieving a little bit of pin up style?

Yes, I'd say so.

Definately! To me pin up style (the stuff I like anyway) is all about that innocent "oops!" sexiness. Simple set, simple idea, beautiful woman and a funny idea.

I think two things might have made it even better though:
1. Stronger light from the camera right (her face/front is quite dark).
2. A lower angle. This angle makes her seem "not tall" and dropping the angle would give her height.

Of course you probably had good reasons for doing things the way you did. I can see how it might have been a challenge to line up the mirror with a change of angle.

Sorry for the comments - I realize this isn't the critique forum, I just get carried away when I see something I like.

Comment and critique away.

I agree the face needs a little more light. At the time I was taking it I purposly left it in the shadows to bring more focus to the mirror image. After seeing it on the computer, I think it did need a little more light.

As far as being able to shoot from a lower angle, I only have 8ft cieling. When I tried that, I'd start getting the cieling reflection in the mirror. I love my studio, but am limit with 8ft cielings.

I don't think it is pin-up, but I love the concept. Very nice shot and I like the orange color too!

I think if you had more light into the face you could say it was "pin-up" ( whatever that means)

When shooting a mirror shot you have to light two images... the image in the mirror and the straight image... then you have to worry about 2 backdrops as well.

Here is my attempt at a mirror/ pin-up look... this one inspired by Armstrong.

Hey I recognize that mirror. Nice shot. This was my first time experimenting with a mirror. It was harder than I thought it would be.

If it was just a tad lighter, I think it would be a great pinup type.
It sort of reminds me of the coppertone sun lotion thingy. Ok, I know there's no dog pulling her bottoms down, but hey, that's what I remembered when I saw this. Getting a mirror shot can be an exercise in frustration... but sometimes it comes out great. You just have to think of it as two shots at the same time.
