Here is a sequence of model Kelley featuring the theme of cutting. Can anyone identify the weapon in question?

cheers,
rfs

i'm not sure from what period of time, but I believe it's a bayonet. Pic #2, you can just see where the muzzle slips into the haft. Or. I could be wrong.

Not much detail, but the butt doesn't look right for a bayonet. It sort of looks similar to a French design I've seen from the River boat gambling era.
But, who's really looking at the knife.

Definitely a bayonet, but it looks like it was re-assembled improperly after chroming. The barrel lug (or whatever you call the part that goes around the muzzle/barrel) looks like it's protruding on on the blade side, and it should be coming off the back side. Yea?

uumm, you may be right, after looking at a bayonet I have, the hilt does look like it's on backwards or upside down, er whatever.

Was there a blade in this sequence? I dunno, one look at Kelley biting her lip in the first of the sequence and I got lost.

Very interesting sequence FRS!

looks kinda like a bayonet- 1890s to early 1900s if i HAD to guess. Hard to tell. And the model doesn't help the focus go to the blade. But as deep as my love goes... Im not the best at identifying knives.

This French bayonet was made in 1875, and the style was used up till the 1900's.
So I'm guessing if it is a bayonet, it's from WW I era or beyond.
But, then who cares, she's a beauty Your model that is.

Since a number of people asked about the knife, here are some close up photos. My dad brought this back from Germany in 1945 and said it was taken from a German soldier (at least that's my memory). The item was made by Eickhorn Solingen.

Here is a link to the photos (small and large):

And here are the thumbnails from above link:

So does this give any more information to identify the blade?

cheers,
rfs
