The best thing about photographing pets is they have no expectations, if the pictures dont turn out they never complain. This is my favorite model Ginger, an Australian Sheppard, she'll never accuse me of being a gwc.

If only humans were as easy to pose, sit, stay, good girl, click. I guess the only way to get over the performance anxiety of shooting humans is to get practice. I have a model/photographer coming over in a few days, hopefully I'll have something good to post from that shoot. If you have any good bathtub shots post those to give me inspiration as that's where we'll be shooting.

Awe,...Ginger has such beautiful eyes.. Plus she has that sexy "S-curve" going on there too..

I don't know this little puppy's name but he was so much fun to work with that I had to take one by himself..

Yep,...and this kitty just so happened to be near us while I was shooting with Dana.. and I couldn't resist snapping one of kitty with the 135mm f2.0 L wide open on the 5D.. I just love it's cute big eyes and curious look..

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. The best pets aren't pets at all but extended family members.

I love the shots, especially of the kitty. The shallow depth of field is fantastic, really makes those beautiful eyes stand out.

I wish that I still had my German Sheppard to shoot photos of. I made due with this shot of my brothers cat a few weeks ago. Had to snap my fingers a few times to get her attention but it worked.

Cats can be pretty aloof, dogs are much more attentive. Ginger is a natural model and knows where the light is, every time it beeps after recharging she looks at the light. It's actually pretty funny to watch.

Great shot! Sometimes difficult to get the eyes right,

This is the mother of the two younger cats you saw in the Hotel, and yes she was going to have her 7th litter had she lived.

So true, but they do get impatient and want to go out and play instead!
