I rarely give my 2 cents..

My main reason for not posting a critique is that I don't have much to post myself. I have alot of opinions on alot of work around here, but I feel if I start slammin' someone's work without having anything up would take from my credability of a person with an opinion. I am also not a frequent shooter, I don't have the liberty of having a wife that likes to be shot often. I've only had two real shoots in my life. This is from my first.....



And this was my last...



The amount of time between these two shoots was about a year and a half.

So until I have more to put up here, I'll give an occasional "pat on the back" and a few IMHO to some of the old regulars on here.

But you shouldnt let that keep you from commenting....I dont think anyone would have issue if you posted the first image with every critique you make!!
it shows them you are a photographer and know the curtosy of the rule#10 image
and I dont think every comment has to be a critique.

I think a lot has to do with the new format, I liked to old format better

Make the "Creative Design" come out of your camera. Experiment with different lenses and lagging sutters. You can always shoot "normal" stuff if you want to.

But, and I stress BUT. You must learn the art of photography. How light works...how to work lights. How apature and shutter speed effect the shot. Once you master that...the rest is easy.

Really think about what you are shooting and what you are trying to accomplish.

Examples of not so expensive sets but just great photography...

I want to put my thoughts in here.

Alot of the reason I do model shoots IS to post them. I don't make money at this. AT ALL! I shoot glamour because I enjoy it. Part of what I enjoy is sharing my work and seeing the comments...good or bad. I shoot them, pick out what I want to work on, do the editing, resize, post on photobucket to share on two forums. That's all I do with them. It's practice, time to try out new things, have a good time and something to post to find out if I'm learning and growing or stagnent. I guess I've gotten stagnent because I sure haven't been getting much feedback. It's like why do I waist my time getting them ready for web and posting them to photobucket so I can then post them here when they 600-700 views and 1 or 2 comments. Or even 0 comments which has happened several times. If you don't like it say it...but say it nicely.

Show me something interesting. I think most of us are busy with our lives and it is not our job to help everyone on the forum.

Take classes at your community college, join a camera club, volunteer to do student of the month photos at a bario school. (done all these myself)

Shoot, shoot ann shoot some more. We, older shooter, had only film and it was far more expensive in the form or film, processing and chemicals...not to mention the time it used to take to develop and print.

There, that's my rant!
