How to get the red out?

How do you get the red out of the whites of the eyes.

Re: How to get the red out?

Lots of ways to do it. One quick way I've used is to select the white part of the eyes, then desaturate to maybe -25 to -30, then add a touch of brightness back, like around 4 to 6. Be careful about over doing it though, it's really obvious if you add too much brightness back in. If done right, it just makes the little veins less noticable and leaves a realistic effect, rather than making the eyes perfectly white.

Larry's advice is good. You may want to couple it with this technique in the photo tips sections of GG: Using Snapshots. It's easier than selecting the eyes.

Another method:
• Select the whites of her eyes with your selection tool.
• Choose Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation
• Use the Edit pulldown menu to select the RED channel
• Pull the saturation way down
• (Optional) select the YELLOW channel and pull the saturation down a bit
• Now, select the MASTER channel and pump up the brightness a bit.

But Cinnamon, you never said what color you wanted them when you were done!

Glad to see you're still around! I just got back myself. I knew I was away too long when I opened GG and had 23,000 posts to catch up on. Several pots of coffee later and I'm still not caught up. DOH!

Good day!

Re: How to get the red out?

I've tried the methods talked about here with varying measures of success. The way I do it now is to take the brush and set the color mode to "color." Set the opacity to something low at first and then paint the color out of the eyes.
