So, I got a bug up my rear about a month ago that I was going to venture back into my past and do some film work. A post here a few weeks ago really sparked that idea.

So, I go out and get everything I need to process my film at the local photo store. Break out a brand new roll of B&W film that I got a couple of weeks ago with this day in mind. I shot some stuff just for the sake of burning the film for something to process.

Shooting done, I got all my chemicals together, mixed them up and got my film into the canister to develop. All went well. I was surprised at how much I remembered since I have not processed my own film since 1990 or so.

Processing done, time to hang up the strip and take a peek. Oh SH*T, I am an idiot! In all my excitement to do this, I forgot about one thing...FILL THE DANG CANISTER ENOUGH TO COVER THE FILM!!!! So, ends up that I have the lower half of the strip perfectly developed while the top of the strip is way underdeveloped and is streaky...lesson learned...PUT THE FILM ON THE BOTTOM, NOT ON THE TOP, OF THE CANISTER and IF DOING TWO ROLLS OF FILM AT ONCE, BE SURE TO PUT ENOUGH CHEMICAL IN TO COVER BOTH.

So, I felt like a moron, but I know what I did wrong. Maybe I will try again sometime but I feel a bit defeated right now, so not for a couple of weeks. Thought that I would share....where is my 20D? There it is, my friend.

Kind of reminds me of the biggest invention to cut down on under exposure! The SLR camera.. You have to remove the lens cap to look at what you're shooting.

That reminds me of when I was doing some film tests with Rodinal...

I was doing these Zone System film tests with Rodinal and Fuji Acros. Well, with Rodinal, normally what I do is pour the water in the canister first, then pour the Rodinal concentrate in second. Well, this one time (and only this one time) I forgot to pour in the Rodinal... I spent the whole time processing that roll of film with nothing but water.
