Here is a current sampling of my work. In one of the photos, overexposure is intentional. You could tell me if you like it. All shots were done in by spare bedroom. I'd appreciate any advice.

You might get better comments if the pictures were a little less compressed. I checked a couple of these, and the size was only about 30kb. There's so much jpg compression that these are very pixelated and difficult to look at.

The one comment I'd make though, is that you seem to favor a fairly low angle on your main light. That might be an intentional choice, but a lot of people refer to this as "monster" lighting, and isn't all that common. In my opinion, #1, 3, and 5 would benefit from a higher position on the main light.

Thank you. You have told me useful things.
I noticed that your sample pic is only about 1/2 the pixel area of mine, yet about 2-and-a-half times the size in bytes, so that gives me an idea of what I should aim for.
I am guilty of the low main lighting. I have seen it used in many places, but putting the name "monster lighting" on it leaves me with quite an impression .

I don't know what software you're using, but in photoshop when saving a pic for web viewing, I usually keep it around 600 pixels on the longest side and save it at a quality of 8-10, depending on the resulting size.

"Monster" lighting isn't always bad. It's just got to suit the mood of the photo.
