who says shadows reside mostly in the domain of art images? that's a crock. i routinely and almost always use shadows in glamour pics... often, a lot of shadows. personally, i think it makes the image--and the model--look way sexier. there's nothing more boring, IMO, than a flat-lit-across, high-key glamour image no matter how hot the babe. not too mention it takes way less skill to shoot that stuff. this whole business of dark shadows mostly being applied to art shots and moslty not to glamour shots is BS. btw, i'm not picking on you. i'm just saying this cuz you provided an easy segue for me to rant on this subject a bit.

i ain't saying there ain't a place for artsy low key images or that they aren't cool, i'm saying that shadowy, low key images aren't the exclusive domain of artsy stuff (or fashion and/or portraiture), but certainly belongs in glamour photography too! IMO, it should be seen in a lot more of glamour photography. but you already know that cuz we've hung out and you've listened to me drone on with my esoteric bull****t enough times.

All the interesting things happen in the shadows...

I'm actually making a point of shooting LESS low key stuff now; everything was starting to come out dramatic and film-noir-ish...
