i just got one and im waiting for my first roll to be processed! it was fun not really knowing exactly what i was going to get.

anyone use them or have fun pictures? especially int he glamour/fashion world... most of glamour is very straight forward or.. not so ARTSY i guess. i'd love to see images with light leaks and grain and vignetting!!

I have 2 Holgas. Although I haven't shot with them lately (hell, I haven't shot any film in almost 2 years!), I love my Holgas. Here are a few shots I've managed to get over the years.

fwiw -- the first 3 are scans of prints I made in the wet darkroom. The last one is from a scan of a Holga negative. I was amazed at the clarity of the 4th image printed at 12x12 considering the inherent (lack of)quality of the Holga lens.

I love shooting with antique cameras. Check out E-Bay and pick up an old Argus TLR. Argus 75's sell for around $10 and are a hoot to shoot with. I have a nice collection of argus cameras and have used all of them at one time or another. I even have an old Brownie that uses 130 film. Where in the world can you get 130 film? I've never been able to find a source.

Yep, I got me a Holga, and it rocks! My favorite thing to do is use it with Polaroid film. I don't have any fashion/glamour stuff with it, but here's some shots taken with the "Holgaroid":

Okay Gentlemen,

Can someone please educate the uneducated I'm not familiar with the Holga although I have heard the name before . . . I thought it was one of those cameras that looks kinda like a toy and has 4 lenses in a row, almost like a kind of stereo camera ? ? ? What does it look like and what's it's use ? I have an old Rapid Omega that I still use on occassion when I want to shoot 6x7, but it's so bluky and cumbersome, it doesn't see much daylight, no pun intended Since I've gone digital, I can't remember the last time I shot film . . . I was shooting with a Rebel 300D and have just recently aquired a 20D that I familiarizing myself with Wishing I had more time for the fun stuff

while i know very little tech details or reasoning... they are cool. not perfect, you have to work with what youve got. it ONLY shoots at 1/100 at f8 or f11. uses 120 medium format film. so far tons of fun cos youre never positive what youre going to get. and yes they are the cheap little toy cameras. mine was $20 on BHPHOTOVIDEO.COM.

google HOLGA and you'll find tons of fan sites and galleries

The part of not knowing what you're going to get is the best. There's a whole new 'movement' in toycameras - Diana's, Lomo's, etc... Check out this site if you want more toy camera fun: http://www.toycamera.com/

Regards, Art.
