these are a few outtakes from the shots i was hired to shoot yesterday. (as opposed to the B&W shots i posted last nite which were shot after the official shoot and 'just for fun.')

these were all shot at ISO 100, f/5.6, 125th w/28-135 canon glass on a 20D. mainlight=mola beauty dish from slightly below in front/right, strips at about a 45 behind to the left and right, and an umbrella overhead and behind her. i slightly warmed the dish with a small piece of 1/8 amber on the dish's opalescent glass baffle and the (left) strip had a full green gel. all the green in the shot is by design as it works into the graphic design of the final product.

great shots. you always seem to get the windy hair down perfect. is it a fan or an assistant with a board 'pushing' air at the right moment?

Great shots as usuall Jimmy.
I like #2 myself. Always wondered how to do that hair shot. Is that fan on the floor blowing upwards?

Jim -

Granted that Cytherea's very sexy herself, I'm sure, but seeing these made me realize that you consistently get very sexy expressions, attitudes, whole images. Very solid stuff.

Thanks for sharing.

jimmyd,

really gorgeous, really perfect like you always do.

any recommendations as far as strip softboxes go? I'm thinking about adding one to the mix and really like what you get out of them.

I like the rim spill from the green gel. Utilizing it on both the background and catching the subject, works well.

Love the way the hair jumps out in number 2.

i use this "stanley" blower/fan. it's great! it pulls the air in from the side. the head can be rotated up and down so you can aim it pretty good, the stream of air is very narrow and focused, it sits on the floor or is easy for an assistant to hold. i bought mine at walmart for about fifty bucks. if you have a variAC, you can really control the amount of air this thing is blowing.
