Has anyone heard of eModelz and, if so, what have you heard, positive or negative?

are you going to there photographer or do you have a model that has been approached? IF you are the photographer it can be somewhat profitable because you basicaly shoot cattle calls and you get a percentage of the purchase of the portfolio. If you are the model and if it is the same emodels that I work for. (about 2 weeks) In my opinion its a scam. Scouts go out everyday and find anyone that will come to casting, telling them that they have the potential to be a model and they should show up to a call. When they get there they are measrued and told to walk a runway. and bring a snapshot with them. small interview. Then there is a big presentation about how the model industrie works and how the internet has made it possible for models to get real exposure. Emodels is the best form because every major agencie goes thru there website yada yada yada...... Then they sit down with the potential model and ask how bad do you want to be a model? We have a great photographer that will shoot you pircs for you, if you really want to put your best image out there. and we will post them on emodels for the low low price of x amount of dollars.

My problem with them was that they would take about anyone at the time. regardless of what they looked like. as long as they could pay the fee.
Now this is only my opinion and This company maybe a different one. for what ever that is worth.
I worked with them when they were in Dallas.

Thanks for your information. This might be a different company as it is based out of Toronto, but I am sure that they have things going on all over the US as well.

I was approached to be a photographer for them and I am just doing some research before I make a decision. If they have a negative reputation, I don't really want my name associated, but then again, they have some very well known photographers (Frank Capp and Gary Kaplan are a couple).

Again, thanks for the information.

Well it seems funny to me that a company named eModelz that is toronto based doesn't come up on a google search. Instead I get a One Model Place page which leads to a site not otherwise accessible and it seems at a quick glance that the model to be becomes a company shareholder upon registration...but don't worry as all the staff are registered at One Model Place.

I personally dont trust this 'agency'. I believe in the past I talked with them and they mentioned a fee.

I said:

"Why should I pay an employer money to gain employement? besides, even if you did represent me... you guys get 20% commission after my jobs...."

-enough said. conversation ended.
