#1 girl is gorgeous. what are you lighting her with? the catchlight looks like some sort of a bastardized, home-made faux-ringlight? it's round on the outside but the center is squarish.

I would think it is one of the square ones ..
Just looks curved because of the roundness of the eyeball???

My guess would be a homemade 4 fluorescent tube light set-up.

Pics look great!

ya love what thing? a boxy-centered ring-light? or it's self-designed and built? (per my original question) or what? cuz the roundness of eyeballs doesn't make things that are round look square as tom suggests as evidence by the (below) image shot with a keylight--as indicated in the catchlight--that is a 3' diameter mola beauty dish which is round on the outside and round on the inside with a round opalescent glass modifier at its center and it all stays ROUND in the catchlight.

First , my first name is Stan
Second , I did not say it would make a round object square , basically the curve of the eye( 3 dimentional ) would make the straight tube look bent

Try this , take a round shiny object ( look for a clear light bulb )
one that is not hot!! (don't touch one that is on)
hold it in front of something dark
now hold a pen or pencil directly between your eye and it
then move it slowly to one side while looking at it's reflection
BECAUSE the bulb (eyeball) is round the image WRAPS around it

THAT is probably what you saw in the image , it just started to warp the bulb reflection ???

In no way does that mean the inverse should happen with a round object to make it look square
( apples and oranges - or apples and a banana )

You thought I meant the inside got square

no , you have seen these on here haven't you ???
four 4 foot fluorescent light fixtures assembled into a square
giant opening in the middle to shoot through

so the center is a square opening
and yes the outside is square too
just that the outside edge is distorted a LITTLE bit because of the shape of the eye

Okay I get the question now. Its a box with straight tubes, but the reflectors have been modified (added and expanded) so it may seen round at the intersection
