Here is another photo. What are your thoughts on the photography?

I would be nice to have a little more light on her right eye. Great exposure though. Looks to be right on the money.

Block out all the shadow areas and crop into the brightest part of your image and you tell me what you think of it then?

A very pretty subject but your light source is too low for this style of photo. It creates a shadow under her eye on the broad lit side of her face. The light strikes her mouth and creates a mustache shadow. The eye pocket is accented and shadowed underneath the brow. The expression dimple smile line is accented. Not necessarily a bad thing all the the time but here it stands out because of the broad lighting scenerio.

Basically what I am trying to get at is if you look at where your main and only light is striking it strikes right on her jaw and lower cheek area. That is what you highlighted so the viewer's eye is going to go right there and then on up to the catch light of the model's eye, instead of holding us in the over all subject.

The model's neck is diminished by the lowering of the chin.

This model is pretty and her hair style is complimentary to her features.

I agree with you about the light on her right eye. I wasn't going to post this picture just because of that. I tried to lighten it up in PS.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback JT. This is exactly what I am looking for.
I see everything you are talking about. I'm guessing some of these problem spots would be fixed by simply raising the light? I was concerned about raising the light because the model has deep set eyes; I thought it would create more of a shadow in the eye sockets.

You have given me a lot to look for and try out next time, I’ll be sure to post the results.

Thanks again,
Jay

With deep socket eyes you have to get light in there. coming up from underneath....any diretional lighting coming from the center of the soft box will direct to the cheekbone and since you had that underneath that will cause a shadow in the socket. So yes, raise it up. I always have my center of the soft box about eye level for this reason.
