Early in my shooting days I was struggling with framing (which I still am to this day) and I was kind of hooked on blowing out the shots. I look at these and what I do now and I think I see a big imporvement. Comments?

First of all you ask a question that assumes anyone who reviews your post knows 'what you shoot today'. I am at over 4000 and most who know my earlier work are no longer frequenting this forum. Second you talk about 'blowing out' but only the third has some blow out and actually I think that pose is your best. The first two, model pose etc are all good but the images do not have 'the pump' they are lacking contrast provided by the lighting. The emotion that you have developing in the last image is just fantastic. What halts the image is her half hand in her hair. As a piece of flesh it takes up a fairly significant portion of the image but what does it define? It becomes a cluster to draw our attention from that face, those eyes, that expression. The follow-ups to the last two images could, in my mind, have been great.

But my opinion is just words. Keep creating and keep sharing.

Well as my guru would have screamed at me (after smacking me with a roll of dusty film) is pretty much the same thing. "YOU CUT THE DAMN HANDS OFF!!!" Like I said before, my framing is still a big issue for me. But thanks for the encouraging words.

Here are my thoughts on that. I have seen many images where I hardly realized the hands had been cut because I was so enchanted with the rest of the image. I've seen some where cutting the hands actually better framed the face. Sometimes though cutting them can be a distraction. Having said that, if I'm the only guy who notices then no big deal. I actually like the way your hand is cut in your avatar. Believe me I cut hands off, arms off, legs any appendage I can find (hmmmm, that sounds creepy ) if it works for me. You got the eye, keep shooting.
