Aimee Beth is a new member to GG. I had the opportunity to work with her a couple weeks ago. I think they came out pretty well. I'd love some feedback, please.

Special thanks to Audrey Imming for the hair and makeup.

Me too.

Not entirely sure about the shadow falling on the far side of her face in the first, but I really like the conversion and the overall "feel." Second is quite eye-catching; nicely done, sir.

How did you light the first, please?

Happy Holidays.

Very lovely photos, althought I wonder about that sadow on her near side of face. It seems a bit much, but just my opinion.

That was actually done using my poor-man's lightpainting technique. I set up the shot (including focus), and I turn off all the lights in the studio. Then, using a 2-DCell flashlight, I paint in the areas that I want. It is really pretty much based completely on luck, though I think I might be getting better luck the more I try it.

Give it a whirl, it is a pretty cool to way to break out of the regular lighting thang.

This particular image had an exposure of 21sec at F7.1.

Merry Christmas and Joy to the Whirled.

For more images using this technique see Emil Schildt's website...one of the best I've seen.

ok & wow, the technique is fine, and I like the image -- though I have yet to ask a model to hold still for 21 seconds, mostly they'd start throwing things at me!

but f7.1 -- that's not on any of my primes : )

post again soon,

Very cool, Mark. Now I understand what I took to be a shadow.
