...they pull me back in.

I gave up photographing people a while ago, mainly because the hassles of dealing with models. Getting the model's schedule to work with mine, my assistant, and possibly a makeup artist felt like I was planning the invasion of Normandy. Although I loved the end results, just getting the photo session together was too much aggravation, and the thought of doing it again has sucked the creativity and ideas from me.

Recently though, I have been contaced by a couple of models who stumbled across my relatively inactive account at Model Mayhem. These girls have considerable potential, but for the life of me I can't come up with any concept or idea for them. I don't want to be the "just stand in front of the camera and I'll take your picture" guy, so I really need to get my creative juices going again.

Perhaps I need a pep talk, or a swift kick in the ass. Maybe I need to start flipping through magazines again, but I just don't know. I will work with these girls that have contacted me, but I hope that getting a good image from the shoot doesn't destroy my love for glamour completely...

So, if you have any suggestions, ideas, sources of inspiration, or advice--I'd love to hear it as I'm being pulled back into glamour...

My favorite cure for brain death is to arrange to shoot with, or even "assist" another photographer. Regardless of whose skills are better, if both attitudes are in the right place, you both can take something away. I have had some wonderful sessions after getting a peek into a different perspective.

Thanks Chuck, but it looks like I'm falling back into the abyss. The girls that have contacted me now are not responding to emails which I know they read, so I may not have a model to worry about. This is only one of the hassles that I was afraid I'd run into which destroys my desire to work with models.

Well, if I don't hear from them in a couple of days, I'll go back to shooting still lifes, which are always on time and don't complain.

I'm fairly new in the photography world, but I have had a couple girls who posed for the first time. I tried to find out something about their personality and then used that to fit into the scenery or idea we were trying to accomplish.
I one who doesn't really like the fake posed positions, so I lean on the more candid type shots.
I realize everyone here may have more experience than myself, just thought I'd kick you in the butt there sort of speak.
