It's time I admit defeat and start looking at a getting myself a new camera. I figure I can afford around $1500 for a new setup. For that I need a decent all purpose lens, something like a 28-105 zoom, and a camera. I still have 2.5 gig of CF memory so I'd like to keep using that. I'm not sure if I should get another 10D used, a 20D, or a digital rebel. Should I be looking at a Nikon D70? Another manufacturer? A little guidance from the camera gods on here would definetly be appreciated!!!!

Well, I'm no camera god, but I do know that Canon is running circles around everyone else. That should help you decide. If it were me and I had $1500, I would buy a 20D and a 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 USM II lens. But that's just me.

i'm not from the Nikons better than Canon camp or vice-versa, save that for the kids, "my toy is better than your toy" crap.
Either way you go will be fine, both cameras have their good and bad things.
Just get one and shoot

I have always found this site to be a good source of information about digital cameras.

If you got canon lenses right now and they are compatible, don't waste them

Look at the 20d , especially since right now it is part of the single double and triple rebates. $100 to start.

If you are looking at outside Canon, look at the Nikon D200, Olympus E500, or perhaps even the Fuji S3 depending on the shooting you do. Nothing else out there right now overwhelming

Inexpensive options include the D70s, D50 from Nikon.

I'd look at the 20d.

I have a Sigma D10 that I have been very pleased with. B&H sells the D10 with a two lense kit (18-50 and 55-200) for $1400.
