Well, for anyone following my wet camera posts here is an update. The Tamron repair facility in Canada called and told me that my 17-35 is not worth repairing. I'm a little pissed beacuse in the same breath they tried to sell me a replacement for $50 more than I paid for that one. I'm figuring that I'll be getting a call from Canon anytime to inform me that the rest of my gear is just as screwed.

Hope it isn;t all dead, but if it is, think KEH for replacements, http://www.keh.com. Their equipment is used, but with a warantee which I've used in the past and it's real. Better prices than new and just as good.

Yeah, it sucks big time. But don't forget to query your homeowners or renters insurance, sometimes that covers damage outside of the home.

Yes,...that does suck..

I forget exactly how it happened to you... but just the same,... keep back-up equipment.. I always have more than one body.. I have nearly redundant lenses....prime and zoom.. honestly,...you may just want to go with a Canon 20mm f2.8 & a Canon 35mm f2.0 lenses instead of a zoom that you probably most often use and one end or the other.. besides, those lenses are sharper than the zoom too..

Best of luck to you!

Sorry to hear that - and best wishes that your experience with Canon is a bit more satisfying.

I feel for you. On one of my first jobs years ago I lost an SLR when a hospital administrator knocked over a glass of wine, splashing it on my camera.

so sad..
