Well it's a dismal rainy day again here in Wales, so I thought I'd post something to cheer myself up.

Also I thought Don might like my approach to keeping it cheap!

Here are the details just for you Don!

Lighting and support system: Very big hotlight (very hot light) suspended a long long way away from the model. Light and support supplied free of charge by the guy who invented this light idea in the first place.

Models Outfit: Design and supply free of charge from the same source as the lighting system. The best designer there is in my opinion, and you never have to worry about labels showing.

Props: Models "wings" also from the same source as the lighting and the outfit. Again free of charge. (Well I wouldn't want to have to pay for those fluffy strap-on things, would I?)

Make up: By the model herself. (Now I'm starting to feel a little cheap!)

My Fallen Angel is Alahna ..... Priceless.... (Some things are more important than money.)

Tell me Jimmy D - does this count as Guerilla Photography.

Comments welcome.

guerilla photography? absolutely. but more importantly, it's a beautiful, striking image of a beautiful, striking model! use of the palm fronds as a gobo is just so well done! and keeping the light far away, of course, sharpened the shadows and truly created the illusion of sunlight. there is nothing i don't like about this image! hats off to you for this one!

So it has been said your lighting mimicks the sun. Funny thing.... I suspect you used a Bee but just held it 93 million miles away from the model.

Nice job!

Hehe, I aint that good.

Model decides to sunbathe beneath a palm tree and I take a few snapshots.

Sometimes I get lucky!

Illusion of sunlight is by divine intervention.

Thanks Brad.

Good guess on the lighting to subject distance!

Don't think it was a Bee though.

Until I began reading on this forum I thought Alien Bees was a fifties Sci-Fi movie. It's not a brand we see over here, so I don't know much about their range.

The hot light I used was 1.4 million kilometers in diameter (That's about 870000 miles). Do they really have one that big in their range?

Thanks for the comments.

I thought it had gone quiet here. At first I thought we may have lost the input from a couple of states due to the hurricanes you have been suffering over there.
Now you tell me Don is away for a while?

So that's why it went quiet!
