A few shots of a new model I am working with. I resisted the urge to use even a fill flash here, and I am glad I did. I think it turned out much better using only the available light as the sun set behind the mountians.

Beautiful pictures!!
i like the first one. That flower gives an nice touch.
Personally i don´t like the pose of the 2nd one and her face expression seems a little forced.
Good Job,
Joseph Art

your stuff is looking really good nowadays Mike,

I would mess with the skin tones, try to warm them up, especailly the first one, with the greens in the background, her skin looks a bit yellow...

Not bad...not bad..

Pretty girl too..

Aren't you glad you are using a real camera now..?

It's amazing that you were such a hard one to convince that using a point and shoot was nothing like shooting with a DSLR.. What are you shooting with... a Digital Rebel, or a 20D....? I forgot.. It looks good though!

very pretty girl! i think not using fill flash was the right way to go, but i also think you might have considered using a gold reflector to warm her up a bit. the skin tone seems too flat and muted... and not in an intentional way. photoshop has photo filters you could try applying. that would warm her a bit.

Thanks guys. JP-I am shooting with the Rebel XT. I am considering either a 20D or a 5D now, not sure yet. I do have a 5 in 1 reflector, but where would the light source have come from with the sun behind the mountians? Any tips would be useful. I am working with her again tomorrow, so I'll put some more up. Here is another of her.

Cool!

If you CAN afford the 5D,...than I would highly recommend buying one, if it doesn't break your bank..

For one,....you will like the way it feels...it is a much better camera to hold.. the Rebex xt is so tiny for an SLR camera.. The 5D has a much cleaner sensor and is full frame, so your backgrounds are softer,...similar to that of what your Rebel is to your little point & shoot body.....much better..

If you can't afford the 5D, then the 20D is still a fine camera.. I've decided to keep my two 20D bodies, and buying a single 5D,...perhaps a second one down the road,...However, I'm new lenses right nowwhich hold their value much better than do bodies, but at least I am good to go with what I have right now in that regard..

What lenses are you shooting with these days?

Keep up the good work!

JP
