if there's a story to these, it would be 1950s horror film. not vampires or that sorta thing.... maybe the kinda stuff that has the beautiful girl being terrorized by a big gorilla that's controlled by some creepy scientist whose in love with the girl. i dunno. that's what they remind me of. they're all lit with a single fresnel light... my home-made Frankenlight: Fresnelenstein.

these work (photoshop-wise)

my only reason for not originally commenting on this series is the 50's horror is pulled off in every way except the model's look. maybe some scared poses?

thanks for appreciating my opinon, however random that comment was!

Greetings! Jimmy, LOVE these images! I've got to get me some Moles and test the heck out of them! I keep wondering when Vincent Price will jump out of the shadows ad grab the femme fatale and put her in a vat of hot wax!!!
The model looks great! VERY B movie-ish!

thanks joey.

btw, these weren't shot with hot lights. i gutted an old mole baby 1k and rigged a monolight into it so i could focus and take advantage of the fresnel lens yet still have the power of the strobe.

here's my monsterous creation. i call it a Frankenlight... or, when i'm feeling less formal, he's simply Fresnelenstein.

Sorry, Jimmy, but somehow the setting just doesn't quiet register. Can't compete with those eyes, those lips, ...

I appreciate your trying. Really I do.

her actions and expression dont match what you originally sez... she doesnt look frightened at all, her motions are posing and not like getting away from a terror or anything. as i always say: the expressions make (or break) a scene and in this, her expressions dont match a horror flick in the 50s or 90s or now. of course, nobody's scared of anything these days anyway.

yeah, i agree. and i wasn't going for that 50s horror genre look when i shot the images. it was more about the lighting and the set that reminded me of a 50s horror, b-movie, style.
