Shy Vixen

Comments always appreciated

Three versions...

The first is shot on digital
The second is shot on film - velvia 50 - crossed processed
The third is shot on film - kodak bwcn 400

Same lighting set up - no photoshop - except despeckle on the scans

Thanks,

Lon Casler Bixby

personally, i think the digital image blows the other two away. of course, the last two are shot wider than the first.

I agree with Jimmy, the digital image is by far the best. Thanks for wharing your comparison.

I much prefer the first image, for it's clarity and warmth. The B&W is good, but I like the composition less. The cross processed image seems blown out to me, and does little for the model. (who has vixen written all over her... )

First, thanks for posting these for comparison, I was really curious what the "normal" shot might have looked like in your previous posts.

I really, really like that second one. I think it blurs the lines between photography and the canvas media. I'm not a fan of the crop of the grayscale, but I think the tones and textures give a deeper, sinister feel to the image. It almost screams vampire or succubus. As for the first, it is a very nice pic, but it expresses less to me than the other two.

Cheers!

IMO, the first is the prettiest photograph, but the second is the best image.

The b/w's OK, but on my screen needs a touch more separation between the background and the hair.

Interesting comparison.
