Recently talking with photographers in my area the question was raised- shaved vs not shaved. I know what I prefer and why and am looking for more opinons on this and reasons why. Just wondering.

I would say shaved with a little hair because it looks clean (to me).

Shaved is fine, but it alludes to a pre-pubescent look. Unshaved adds contrast and aesthetic balance. Some young women appear "erased" if cleanly shaved, and it can look pointless as well as uninteresting. Again, it's all about the ying & yang -- balance, man.

I personally don't care if a photographer shaves or not before a shoot.

I think nicely trimmed or totally unshaved makes it more artistic. Jim

I think that JT and Don prefer shaved, but when it comes to women, I have this thing for those who are what I call, well groomed.
