Model wanted bondage - wife said "absolutely not"

Look at Scott's photos (CHAINS) of the foot with the chain around it. That's bondage but it's not in the least bit hardcore. The sexual gratification thing is so subtle, it's almost non existent. I don't get the sexual gratification vibe from the Bettie Page style bondage. It's simple ropes, not intricate. Maybe that's me. I don't really follow the bondage genre so I just looked up the work she refered to. Maybe everything you mentioned is exactly what my wife was thinking therefor the reason for her response.

I'm trying to get a feeling for a comfort zone of what I'd feel comfortable shooting. I've shot nudes at Rolando's workshop because I wanted to learn the art of photography as he teaches it. I'm not sure that's something I'd be comfortable doing outside a workshop environment. So to me, a clothed bondage seemed tame but I wasn't thinking about all the implied's you mentioned.

Sex is in almost all of our advertising. Drink this beer and you too can have a girl that looks like this. Drive this car and ... Advertisers are always selling based on a subtle sexual gratification.

She tolerates the glamour prospective because she knows that I enjoy it. She doesn't really want too many details from the workshops. She knows - she doesn't ask. For me, I don't want to upset a balance of tolerance while not acceptance with intolerance. It's simply not worth it.

Many of us are wondering about your attitude about your wife. One day she will see you don't respect her request and you may have hell to pay.

My wife wants me to have fun too and actually finds models for me and helps me with poses and props. We too have a no nude policy, but I don't mind for the sake of the marriage and feeling better about myself.

Steve, just an observation so please take it that way.

My wife is my biggest fan and most honest critic. I never, and I do mean NEVER, shoot anything I wouldn't want her to know about or see. I tell her about every single one of my shoots.

Am I P-whipped? Nope. Its all about respect and trust and comfort. Models come and go. Wives tend to be more permanent (okay, more permanent than models). Look at this as an opportunity to show your wife what you have in mind. If she's still opposed to the idea, find out what *her* comfort level is.

Deceiving your wife about what you do leads to an unhappy finish.

Not to HiJack the thread...but everytime I look at that image I like it more and more!!

Subtle or not, bondage is about dominant or submissive and takes on a sexual gratification role regardless if it's safe , evil or subtle.

A nude image and it's intent does not always or is not always created for sexual gratification.

You can argue if the underwear section of the JCPenney catalog is porn. That's interpretation of a viewer. I am not talking about interpretation. I am talking about porn is porn and bondage is bondage. Subtle or not, it's intent is to arouse. Not always the case with nude photography.
