(my weak impression)

Have you ever noticed that what gets said here is most times, not as enlightening as what is not said here? I mean take for instance a thread that I guess in my slumber I missed, where a lot of really talented folks get in to a pisser with each other. Now, do you suppose that just erupted from one posting of one image? Or perhaps was it based upon a lot of 'words' back and forth, and back and forth over a period of time?

Don't get me wrong I've fallen the victim to such brawls but in this segment of my life I find them tiring. I guess that means I lack the piss and vinegar of many my juniors. That I am some how losing my machismo (that is assuming I had some).

I just cannot help feeling sad when a lot of guys I like get into a pisser with each other and I don't understand why. Maybe Viagra will help, or maybe walking into a bar and getting drunk and talking about why so and so team sucks this year. I suspect, that I have reached that point in my life that my Grandfather talked about and maybe I should have reached it sooner.

is that the interenet affords people to say anything, well things they would not say to someone face to face.

You do not have to show the little courtiousies (?) that you extend to someone when talking to them face to face (or even on the phone).

Because there are these bloody arguments on nearly every board, be it a Sports Forum, a Car Forum or a Photography Forum, people go a lot farther to make their point and some do it with more agression and often times are met with the same agression which escalates matters...

I missed the thread in question, and all I can say is....

PEACE

Nah Mike, it's called Wisdom, a by-product of life's experience. If only we could have 70 years-worth of it when we're, say, 19. It just means you've been paying attention along the way.

You are never a stress for me, other than figurin' out all those sins and virtues. Heck I have no idea what many of them look like.

was eating with some of the older hands. Somebody yelled out "43" and everybody laughed except the newbie. Another yelled out "89" and everybody laughed except the newbie.
"Whats going on?" the new guy asked.
"We've all heard the same jokes over and over so to save time we just numbered them."
The New guy thought it over and thought it made sense so wanting to join in he yells out "23" . . . nothing. So he tries "55" still no laughs.
"Now whats going on?"
The old timer just shruggs and sez: "Some can tell jokes and some can't."

Okay now some (if not all) are saying what's this got to do with anything. Nothing or perhaps a whole lot. It depends on who the story teller is. If its most of the people on this board its a joke (maybe). If somebody with more credentials it becomes a parable; a story of the insiders vs. the outsiders. But if somebody like Robert Saunders or the Fish or Half a Dozen others that occasionaly post here (people who have been there and done what most of us aspire to) were to tell it most of us would chuckle and then wonder if maybe there isn't something hidden behind the numbers.

Me, I think I'm like the second punch line to the joke:
"72" somebody yells out and everybody laughs except one guy who literally falls off his bench laughing so hard."
"Now what's going on."
Old time just shruggs again and sez: "Guess he never heard that one before."

I'll laugh but don't get excited unless I haven't heard (seen) it before.
