I can dance all day long my friend. Here is where my soul wanders. You and I, and others here will most likely never be bringing down the big bucks. We use our experience, and our mistakes to create images that others feed off of. And that is an honorable thing. We post often, but are we only feeding the surface feeding fish? Do we post the same thing over and over and it just feeds the constant swarm of fish swimming through the area?

Ask yourself, when have you or I, or others here have taken the strong swimmers with us to explore something that lies beneath the surface. You mentioned your wife and I miss mine greatly, think for a moment, do you know her only to see her for a moment? Doesn't it require that you look into her eyes and see that fire, to smell her, to taste her and to know what she means to you? Are we not as artists required to capture all of that and then to help others do the same?

Oh, yes.... old Mike the crazy one. The firey one, the moody one but is he crazy? We can hope not. Is it about arguing and disrespecting one another? Is it about pissing in someone's face to make ourselves feel better (and I know you never do that), or is it about giving someone the skills to maximize the passion they have? If they do not have it then it will be a breath that dissipates in the wind. If it works then it is a kiss.

JMHO

Mike

Well, I appreciate that...I'm just not sure which way to venture. The art thing is more me...not the "catalog/lifestyle/semi-fashion-ish" stuff....so I don't know where to go right now.

Sir, you may have missed your calling..you maybe should be a writer on the side! (meant as a compliment)

I feel what you're saying, because I really feel the same! I need to start taking photos that convey something deeper...I just need to figure out how I can do it in a style that is my own!

You said it all very nicely sir! I appreciate the conversation!

Hello Mr. Moyle,

Can u tell us how u did the fourth picture ?
For me it would be interesting to know if you added light , or if u just used the available light (which meant using reflectors?). I was just wondering why her face is nicely lit...

Thanks !
Peter

First...call me David or Dave...Mr. sounds too old (I'm only 35)

That 4th photo is nothing more than her standing below a tungsten light under the waiting area at a train station at dusk. No flash, no reflector other than light reflecting off the ground. Here's the exif data.

Shooting Mode
Manual
Tv(Shutter Speed)
1/20
Av(Aperture Value)
2.8
Metering Mode
Partial
ISO Speed
800

I hand held it using my knees as a brace...so it's a little softer than I'd have liked, but I didn't expect to be shooting this late and didn't have a tri or mono pod...it was an improvised experiment.
