A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of working with Garage Glamour member Caroline Victoria. She was a delight both in personality and performance ... thanks, Caroline!

Here are some of what we captured in our shoot down at the Jeresy shore. Critiques encouraged and, as always, welcome.

While I liked the result of this next image photographically, it also cried out to me to enhance the anime-like quality as well. So a few photoshop techniques later ...

Thanks again,
Dave

#2 is excellent! And I like #3, too. Would you mind posting the "raw" image, too?

The last one is bada$$. The second on seems a little soft to me.

i'm diggin #3! i know, to some, that one might seem more about the processing and less about the photography but i think it's equal parts of both and it kicks butt, dude.

... or somthing like that. Here's a composite of the transition the image made from the original photo to effect. Incidentally, this was literally one of the final frames I clicked off of Caroline as the rains began to fall -- it never ceases to amaze me that the last shoots of any shoot always tends to work out the best. lol

Top image is how it came out of camera with minimal photoshopping done to it (slight adjustment to levels and curves and a bit of dodging to bring up eye color, plus a bit to spotting with the clone tool).

Middle set is how the image progressed to my eye. Converted to B/W, then added some color tone (basically sepia, but from my own mix, and applied as color).

After that I was impressed with the amine quality of the look (with a kind of Frank Miller-ish twist) so decided to go that route with it. Oddly, enough I planned to continue with the b/w look (possibly even going with a more contrasty feel) but decided to work with the color image first to see what that came out like. Once I had finished with the color image though, I liked it enough to skip making it b/w ... lol

PS effects to the final were, in order, Smart Blur, Dry Brush (twice, but I faded the second hit by 50% using the Ctrl/Shift/f keys), Adjust Saturation, a bit more tweaking of contrast via Levels and then I cloned an eyelash I found distracting (image right) and smoothed out the eyecolor that had picked up the reflector that was below the model. Finally, I added one full Sharpen with was also faded (forget actual amount since I did it to my eyes, but probably in the 35-50% area).

Thanks to all for the feedback. I'll be sending PMs to each of you addressing your posts as to not bog down the forum here with multiple "thanks."

And yes, #3 was my favorite from the shoot too.

Muchos gracias, Howard. Caroline was great to work with and made my end of the process a breeze. We fit a variety looks and styles into a relatively short shooting schedule (about an hour of actaul camera time). If you get a chance to work with her, go for it!

Thanks again!

Dave,

I'd love to work with her.
What's her contact info?
Does she have a port here on GG?

Howard
