...just hearing that makes my own heart sink, Bobby. I've never had my camera equipment stolen before, but, if it makes you feel any better at all, I have had my truck stolen before. The cops found it a little while later -- minus the engine, CD player, radar detector, wheels, and rear bumper. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Quick word of advice: if you're ever in Memphis, don't just take your camera equipment inside with you, take the whole car. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

I'm surprised anyone around there could recognize quality equipment...much less what a camera bag may hold. I'll bet they have NO idea what they really have. Somewhere there is a pawn store clerk paying 10 cents on the dollar for it.

My own story....I was at Enchanted Rock a month ago to shoot the meteor shower. Somewhere me and my VISA card parted company. By Monday whomever had it had run up a $500+ shopping spree at Walmart. Luckily Walmart credited my account for every cent...so nothing was lost.

My best to you, I know exactly how you feel, only I have one better for you . . . at least it happened to you on a smaller scale [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] Get this, 3 weeks ago I went out of town for the weekend, came home on a Monday and found that someone decided to help themselves to whatever they could find of interest to them . . . we're talking computers, laptop, camera equipment, jewelry including both my wife's and my wedding rings as well as my school rings, and that's only the big stuff . . . needless to say, lots of other stuff missing as well ! Like you said, it's insured and replaceable, but some of the stuff wasn't replaceable, besides the fact that it had sentimental value. What was worse was the feeling of being violated like that in your own home, the only good thing we're glad of is that no one was home that could've been hurt, but had someone been home, maybe it wouldn't have happened to begin with. Just remember, we work hard for all that we have, keep it close to you if you value it that much cuz someone can come along anytime and take it from you just like that . . . man, I swore I was ready to strangle somebody that night when I got home . . . needless to say, all locks & deadbolts have been changed and an alarm system has been installed, how else can I feel a little more comfortable when I'm @ work and my wife or my kids are alone [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
