Here is a technique I like to use....try it and see if you like it...

A black scarf filter over your lens also causes the same effect . . . maybe not as controlled, but the intention is the same.

Interesting technique.

I have to admit that I cheat when it comes to this. I use PSP's Digital Camera Noise Removal filter. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Got that book. I've also got Photoshop CS, The Art of Photographing Women. Both of them are full of great info. Thhe best $100 I ever spent on this type of stuff though has to be Kodak's Digital Gem Airbrush tool! You can get a free trial, but it's well worth the $100!

I completely agree on the Kodak plug-in. The blend slider allows you to dial it in and out with amazing control. If you want even more control, use a mask and select only the skin, then run the plug-in. Sometimes light brown or dirty blonde hair will lose sharpness if you run it on the entire image.
