not necessarily about everything he has said (quite frankly mixing Schapps and WT101 seems like heresy to me). I am done with TFPs except with models who have worked with me and I understand where they are in life and how I can help them. After my reply about respect I have now had a bad incident with a model and her MUA about a TFP session. Enough so that it has soured me about ever helping anyone that I do not know and respect. I did not think I would ever say this but I am just plain tired of a segment of our society that feeds off the well meaning intentions of others. And before models get their panties in a wad some photographers fall into that same class.

So while all that I said about respect still holds, it is stromg enough on me now to say I don't need this crap anymore and Robert was right.

Bravo Mike!
I never really understood that anyway.
Yes, it's ok to trade services, if that is really what you are mutually
going to do. But really?

I don't mind working with friends and associates who I've known for awhile.
It's good fun, there's alot of fun, and mutual respect.

The model above is a good friend.
I plan to reward her efforts with a cool poster.
Of course, if it retails like the last one I did, I may
surprise her with more than that.

I found that the higher my price, the less problems I have
and no hassles.

When it's free, then people feel free to disrespect you.

If a model or a photographer wants something bad enough
let them pay for it like the average mortal.

Greg.

Well this just sucks, first I miss out on Robert now Im going to miss out on you also. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but have they out weighed the good times you have had with good models. Don't let it get you to far down Mike. Life is what you make of it and if you want to make it happy then make it happy.

Don, if you will lose some butt crack and grow some long golden locks I might consider working with you. You are ahead of most as I respect you and consider you a friend, I just don't know if I consider you attractive. And if I did, God help me.

the most important thing said in this thread was 'if it's free people don't respect it'.

There are no truer words.

What I do not want to do is adversely affect the relationships between other photographers and models. And I know that on both sides there are many around the world that need that break that comes when both meet and create great images. What is happening is the fish bowl is filling with many who do not place the same importance on being who you say you are and doing what is right. And no this is not naive Mike in his fantasy land. It is about doing the right thing, at the right time for the right reason.... the three 'r's' in my mind.

You have the "itch"...I bailed out of this biz a year or so ago, I was done had enough. Had seen everything, the good the bad of modeling. Challenged myself, thought I couldn't learn anymore...thought the entire field was a joke.

I layed my camera to rest for 9 months...and just like a crack junkie came crawling back. Its innate, some of us have it some of us don't, I have seen your work over the years and unfortunately, you have it buddy. It will draw you back...take some time off regroup, then come out better, stronger and wiser than before.

and just remember "AA" is for quitters.
