The problem with escorts, "photographers", and "models".

I have a few nightmare stories from makeup artists who must have hated me...The pictures sucked of course. They knew what they doing. I am always especially nice to the makeup artist or I just do my own and keep a can of mace near by [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I don't really have anything to add here. I think this is an issue where you really have to trust your gut instincts and make decisions on a case by case basis. I just wanted you to know that I felt totally comfortable shooting with you and I appreciate you going out of your way to help me feel comfortable I would recommend you to anyone.

I think some of you are understanding what I'm trying to say, while others are reading this as a "Are escorts good or bad" thread. Let me remove my toungue from my cheek and be very damned blunt about this.

If someone causes a model to feel uneasy, uncomfortable, fear for her safety, in any way, then the shoot should be cancelled. Bringing an escort along doesn't change the fact that the photographer is creepy, perverted, psycotic, sociopathic, or any other type of ****head. The model is simply exposing someone else to the scum of the earth when she brings an escort.

Yes, things can happen with people who appear to be caring human beings, so in no way am I saying it is a bad idea to bring an escort, nor do I object to them entirely. However, if someone gives you any reason to think you need an escort, why the hell are you shooting with them in the first place? Cancel the shoot and find someone else that doesn't give you butterflies in your stomach or make your gut twist and knot.

I see too many girls who think it is fine to work with a ****head as long as they bring an escort. Maybe they want attention, maybe the pay in enticing, maybe they are just flat out stupid and missing survival instincts.

For example, in another forum where I started a similar thread, a girl claimed she was tied up with her hands above her head for a body casting because it was required to get the proper shape of the chest. Then the artist shoved his tongue in her throat and his fingers in her crotch. She claims she stopped his artist by kneeing him in the groin. However, she then showered in his apartment and waited for payment from this pervert. I'm guessing she conveniently forgot to call the authorities to put this pervert in prison as well...where is her clear thinking and common sense? Maybe having an escort would have helped, but after the fact, running from the apartment and having the police recover payment would be a good idea as well.

Again, I am not taking a stance on whether a model should bring an escort or not. However, I am saying that common sense, good judgement, and trusting your gut is imperitive. If there are warning signs, cancel the damned shoot, don't find an escort!
