Hello! I am a photographer who hails from Virginia Beach but as of right now and till July, I am floating around somewhere in pirate infested waters. I am in the Navy and have been for 13 years. 10 of those years I decided to get back into photography and 3 of those years have now been doing studio style work.

I shoot just about anything and everything from weddings down to simple portraits and commercial work. Going on two years now I have had a contract with a "DANCER/STRIPPER" website so I usually see about 3-4 girls a week and shoot them. I shoot on all Canon equipment and use photogenic lights mainly for my studio work. I do have a Alien Bee ring and several flash guns that I use for location and additional lighting.

I came to this site to use my experience to help others and pick up other new tricks. I hope I can contribute to this site and gain alot of useful knowledge along the way!

THANKS!

Welcome to GG. Things are kind of slow around here right now, but we're hoping the pace picks up soon. Post some images when you get a chance. Are you going to open a full time studio when you're tour is up? Let me be the first from this site to tell you thanks for your service to this country. I think the founder of this site spent a lot of time in the army, but I'm sure he'll welcome a navy guy anyway!

Well, lucky for me, I am the type of Navy guy most ground pounder like, I put shells on the beach for them to protect them if needed. As long as you can read a a grid map, a compass, and can give me an approximate distance, Ill hit it for you!

I do alot of work now out of my house and honestly, I dont think I will ever get a STUDIO per say as I have had friends do this and then they have to charge WAAAAAY to much money to their clients and they move on to another photographer who is cheaper. Everyone wants CHEAP these days. Once Im done here, I will transfer to shore and where ever I end up is where I will probably retire soooo, then I will be full time. I would either look for a place with a 10' ceiling basement or even build a structure on my property for a studio but I do not think renting a studio is something in my future.

I hear you on the renting. I'm currently working out of a basement studio. It's pretty nice but I can only dream about 10" ceilings. I end up doing lots of shots with the subject sitting on the floor.

I have 8' ceilings now and believe me, Ive shot some tall woman with no problems and I used a hair light. For a hair light I use my alien bee ring light for a hair light because it has a low profile. I stick it on the end of a boom and bingo, GREAT hair light.

Wow

Being the former owner of a large sail boat, the only thing I shot with out there was a Barrett M107 with 50 rounds 25 being AP. Skilled to 1500m
