"Actually, if you are considering oils and such you'll want to find something that works yet is easily washed off. The models may appreciate travelling home and not smelling like a salad."
I used to use baby oil, which doesn't smell like salad dressing and gives a fairly shiny effect, or the newer, gelled baby oil, which still doesn't smell like salad dressing and gives a very shiny effect. I'd use a Neutrogena product - called "body oil with sesame" or something like that for a rather subtle sheen. It smells like toasted sesame.
None of these are easily washed off, although for the Neutrogena, models didn't mind. The baby oils generally can get messy.
