Is it me or does anyone else feel the changes to glamour garage have made things worse? I find it very confusing. When I have migrated to a new server, I have always been able to take my folders and files with me. Maybe it is a way to clean house of free members?

Be patient Michael and put in the effort. The new system has benefits that far, FAR outpace the old system, but you do have to familiarize yourself with them.

When I upgraded to my Canon 1D I had to learn new features that I had never had before. I am in fact still learning new things on an ongoing basis, but I wouldn't go back to Elan IIe for all the money in the world.

There is no reason that free members can't enjoy this system, and if you choose to use it's full capabilities I suspect that the membership fee will pay itself off quickly.

Change is in the air. We often are uncomfortable with change. I remember hearing a story about the photographer Edwin Weston that when he felt he had hit "writer's block", he would drink many shot of tequila and in the buzzed state burn all of his negatives. In the morning aside from a headache, he woke up to no past work, forcing him the create new work. Now, that is really forcing change in your life.

I have been around since 1999 and I can relate to you that things have always gotten better. Maybe not in the way I wanted but over time I adjusted and continued to enjoy the core idea of Garage Glamour.

Sal,

Thanks for those words, those are interesting words. So that's what happened to all my slides and negatives? (grin) Good to see you're still around. Thanks for being a part of the GG family and community, rg sends!

Michael, this is a better site. Yes, it has a different look and feel but everything changes. Look at the auto makers. They make some sort of minor changes to their cars every year and yet it is the same basic car.

The changes with Garage Glamour are a work in progress and will be tweaked as needed. If you are having difficulty you can always feel free to post a question in the Forums and you will get answers.

Michael,

I want to add one more thing for you and everyone in this community, click all links, try them all out, see what they do, you can't break the system unless you have administrators permissions. You must click links for them to work, most are self-explanatory, actually they all are.

Many times what I see is people afraid to click a link button or something. I hope that helps, and I encourage everyone to click links! Thanks, rg sends!

I don't want to cause trouble, but did I miss the notice or invitation that lead to this new site? I went to G! and only found a 404 message. If it weren't for the shotcritic notice and seeing a link to here, I wouldn't have known where to go.

What did I miss?

KG

KG, thanks for the heads up, you must have went to a bookmark that was not just glamour1.com, probably .com/forums or your profile. Not sure, but we'll soon have the domain forwarded here, DNS propagations take up to 48-hours sometime. Though we did send out a mass email. Regardless, great to have you back and be a part of this family and community, all the best, rg sends!

Not sure what all the chatter is about it being better or worse....

To me it is just different. Same categories, and when you get into a forum , it looks very similar. It has always been a good design, in my opinion.
