Hi,

I'm new here so please forgive me if this topic has already been discussed. I recently took some glamour photos but I don't want to take them to the local Walmart to print them. Any suggestions?

If you are asking for suggestions on an alternative place to get them
printed, you might look for your local professional photo labs that
give more attention to detail when it comes to printing them right.
Occasionally I will go to a Walmart to get prints made.
I live in an area where there are 6 Walmarts within 20 miles of me and
found that there is one or two of them that have better results. Three
of them have ask me for copyright information once they saw my
pictures, which I was glad that they were paying attention to that.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think a walmart would take glamour photographs?

When you say glamour, are you meaning that they are nudes? If so, then you are always subject to problems at any retail lab in a place like Walmart depending on who the person is working the area. If there is no overt nudity, then you should have no problem as long as the model is clearly of age. Otherwise, there are a number of online facilities where you can upload photos, then order prints, and get them in the mail and rarely do you have any problems with these. I usually just print my own. The inkjet printers have got so good that you can really make some wonderful prints. I don't often need prints, but that is one way to go.

Cheers,
rfs

Well, as somebody who has worked at a Wal Mart photo center, and knowing their policy on nudes, and knowing their quality, I'd recommend against taking nudes in and try to convice you against using them in the first place, but that's just me. With the nudes, I'd definately go to a pro lab in town, not only will they pay more attetion to details, but you'd have a much better chance at having your prints done. It'll most likely cost you more at the pro lab, but IMO, it's definately worth it.

Glamour photos yes, nude photos no. I have already had some glamour
images printed at a Walmart. You might want to see how well they can
print just a few of them to make sure you are satisified with the results
first. Otherwise go to a pro lab.

Are they film or digital images? If you are shooting digital, why not invest in an inexpensive printer and print from home...thus saving the hassles and worries you have mentioned? For quick printing, contact sheets, and proof sheets as well, I use an HP D7360. The HP produces fantastic skin tones IMO. It uses Vivera inks and the images are said to last 105 years under glass or protected. Epson, Canon, etc...all make comparable printers with high quality results for under $300. Just a thought for you...

Hi if it was my stuff, I'd simply buy an Epson printer and do it myself.... I don't need people making extra sets or pissed off women working the controls making the images a tad green or yellow or something....

my personal opinion of course.
