I recently got a Nikon d-70 and with all the photos i've seen they all seem to have been fixed in photoshop. The question is what version of photoshop would be a good place to start for a rook to start his education ? Please offer any opinion you may have. Thanks:

The current version of Photoshop (CS2) is a very popular and extensive program. But, 90% of the "fixing" that you see on digital images (cropping, resizing, color mode changes for web posting, sharpening, etc.) can be done with Photoshop Elements. It's much less expensive than the full-blown version of Photoshop, and since the majority of functions are the same in both, you don't have to re-learn what you've begun.

You can download a trial version of either Photoshop CS2 or Photoshop Elements at:

http://www.adobe.com/products/tryado...jsp#product=31

You can often find Elements bundled with various peripherals, or if you have to go to the local software emporium, you won't spend a hundred bucks (it's $90 from Adobe - less from most vendors).

That help?

this is one of those questions where the hookah-smoking catterpiller's advice to alice, i.e,. "begin in the beginning and end in the end," isn't the best advice.

whether you decide to go with photoshop elements or photoshop itself, i would recommend you get the latest version, not an earlier version.
