I took these almost a year ago, just did the photoshop a few mintues ago. In the first one I wanted something high contrast, comic book type. The second as a fine art black and white. And yeah, I know most fine art models don't wear bikini's but I'm going more for the skill on this one.

The first image just looks way overexposed to me ( and lacks pure blacks, as you'll see if you check the histogram , or simply do a Auto Level ). The background has some wrinkles that is visible. I like the models expression on this one though.

The same goes for the second image ( something strange beside her left hip ). The lighting does nothing for me on this one. For fine art you would usually have darker shadows and let the contrasts do the image. What did you change in Photoshop for this one?

Thanks for the comments.

I noticed the thing by her left hip after I posted it. Originally this was a color photo that didn't have a lot of detail. I used the channel mixer in grayscale to bring out more of her. If I could reshoot it I would put more light on her face, then I could let the shadow's be darker.

I also think it would help using a light that has a more even spread. There is more light at the middle of the model. Bouncing the light or having it farther away would help.

I agree, If I remember right this was the last shot that I took of her that day, we were both getting tired.
