Try this link there are a couple of actions you can download and try. In the navigation on the right hand side click on "Black and White" and then on "Classic Tones".

duotone is actually b&W with one color added. so you ahve to covert your image to B&W (grayscale)first then select duotone add a color of your choosing then covert to rgb if you wish then save.

Wonderful!!! I've been working on this for days. I knew there had to be an easier way to do it, but just couldn't figure it out. I even got out the huge photoshop book I have and still couldn't get it.

Look, I just did this one!! (PS-The added noise is so much more "noisier" since resizing and saving for web.)

what i do is:

desaturate
image>adjustments>variations
put the Fine/Course bar to one above Fine
hit yellow and red once
