I'm sure you've heard people refer to "the remodeling project from Hell." Well, here it is:

Remember that scene in Reign of Fire where they dug up the hibernating dragons?

This is worse.

Blur is in-camera: every once in a while when I'm shooting artsy pictures I dial the shutter speed up and take one like this to see what happens. Exposure, as I recall, was 1 second at f4.5, no flash (basement has some minimal window light and fluorescent lighting.) Post-production adjustments:

1) Levels adjustment
2) Contrast enhancement, fairly high (turned the hole into a black pit)
3) Red hue increase (lots) red saturation increase (not so much)

Totally wicked. I like the idea of the blur, but maybe not quite so much? Do you have any others with less/no blur for comparison?

Post more if you got 'em.

So what did it look like without the blur? Was it really that red? Is that a knife in her hand?

1) I don't have one of those here, but I'll post one when I get to it in the retouching cycle if you like. I did post one from the same set in the "Chicago Workshop" thread in the Main Community Forum if you want to see that.

2) No, it's not red. She's basically black and white, the setting is basically brown and gray. Even in color it's not very colorful.

3) You could call it a knife, if you wanted to, I guess. It's a German swordbreaker, which is basically a very large dagger with a barbed-comb back. It's *eeeeeeevil* looking, which is why I suggested she pose with it. It's not meant to stab people with - it'd get stuck - but if you *did* stab somebody with it, it would really, really hurt, so it seemed appropriate for a demoness to be crawling out of Hell with. Thank you. I may, possibly, be getting the hang of this. A little. That's one of my favorites so far as well.
