I need a little help if somebody doesn't mind. I'm kind of new to the computer and do not know how to use Photoshop. I picked up my computer used and it has photoshop 6 on it but I have no idea how to use it.

I was woundering if some could clean up these two pictures I took of my wife last weekend. They are 800 x 800. I can email you the higher res if needed. I am shooting witha Minolta A1 right now. I am hoping to be upgrading to a DSLR in the near future.

Here is a link to some of the pictures I've taken of my wife.

Thanks
Jeff

Thank you for helping.

The first picture the skin tone is flat - white balance off. Make skin more even on the face. No detail in the dress. Anything that you notice.

The second picture fix lines in the facee, even out skin on face, skin smoothness, wrinkle on the wast. anything that you notice.

Do you know of any good books for photo retouching with photoshop. I have checked my local book stores but most of the books on photoshop are more towards illustration.

I live in Los Angeles California. Do you know of any place to take a class on photo retouching with photoshop.

Thank you very much for your help,

Jeff

If you want to learn photoshop.. here's what I would do.
First, invest in a pen tablet. go to http://www.wacom.com
you can pick the smallest tablet of the Intuos line. This
will magnify the power of photoshop 1000%.

Next, go to the bookstore, new or used and get the official
ADOBE: Classroom in a book, series.

Third, look at every tool and filter that photoshop has to
offer and see how it works. check out everything. Then begin
to learn how to use it for your needs.

Then, you can branch out to third-party books, web sites,
and magazines to pick up hundreds of tips and tricks.

In about three months, you can be somewhat competent with
Photoshop and Image Ready.

After that, study art till you want to puke. That is where
you learn to get the most from photoshop.

Greg.

I had a crack at your wife, well her picture anyway I uses a combination of the healing bruch, blur, and the liquify tool along with a small curves adjustment. All done on different layers to balance out. It was quick and dirty, but I hope it helps.

Here's what you want:

http://www.garageglamour.com/reviewp...hp?product=287

That's a review of Kevin Ames' "Photoshop CS: The Art of Photographing Women." Several posters on this board have agreed that it is an awesome book. Now, you don't have CS, so some of its specific tricks won't apply to you, but in general it's a great way to learn how to plan, take, and retouch photographs in Photoshop.

Mark it looks great. Thank you for taking the time to do this for me.

I am going to go to LA today and see what books I can find.

Thanks for all the responses.
