you were shooting thru the blinds with a softbox or umbrella. Try using a point source light with out the softening modifier. Remember sunny day hard shadows cloudy day soft. By the way I'm glad to see another female photographer here on the board. You need to get that girl to put up a page here if she'd like to work with others. She definately has a great look.
