I understand there is a gamut difference between RGB/CMYK, that's why I have the color space set in Photoshop and Illustrator to replicate what it looks like. I know it's correct, because the stuff I print on an offset press looks very accurate to my monitor. And, I thought, just in case this was the problem, I'd try an RGB photo. And it looked just as bad. I even tried setting the settings to vivid color (I already wasted half my ink on trying everything else, so I figured what's a little more). I mean, the thing has 8 ink cartriges for cryin out loud (for those unfamiliar...C, M, Y, K, another Black, R, B, and clear), it should be able to pull off color that a press can't. I know this is supposed to be the greatest printer, but I'm kinda frustrated right now. I look at stuff I was printing a year ago (from CMYK files), and compare it to what I have now, and it just does not look as good.
