I've heard that before on the R800. I use the R300 and have never have problems with it. Not saying Epson is the best though. I've had very good luck with Canon also.
I'm torn b/t them.
I also found out about Epson's "tech support". Basically just people that get paid to read the instruction manuals. Sometimes they even give you a website for support...I did that once...it was a PDF of the manual.
