No experience with the specific lights, but my Norman S2000 strobes have worked flawlessly for over 15 years. When I'm not shooting with the strobes, I've found the modeling lights to be sufficient to produce great images. Additionally, I have a set of four Lowel 1K hot lights (similar to the allure 1,000 watt) which are also over 15 years old. I found that adding a hot light or two to a shoot with my strobes as the primary light gives me the ability to illuminate specific parts of the image.
