Whenever possible, I try to compose using the "rule of thirds". Take the rectangle of the image.. divide it into thirds both vertically and horizontally. Where those thirds intersect (should be four points inside th eimage) are where the viewer's eyes will spend the most time looking for major points of interest. I'm not sure you can really do that with this image, though, now.

In this case, the tree is distracting I'd crop to the left of it... maybe tighten the crop on the right side (her right side) of her face so that I'm seeing just hair, face, right hand, and a bit of the T-shirt on the right shoulder.
